Kyocera Corporation has developed the KC1210A Series clock oscillators. These oscillators offer the world's smallest size and operate at an ultra-low voltage of 0.9V, which is approximately 50% lower than its previous conventional clock oscillator models. Sample shipments are now available, with full-scale mass production planned for the summer of 2026.

Key features include:

•    Ultra-compact design and low profile: 1.25mm × 1.05mm × 0.5mm max.

•    Low-voltage operation: 0.9V, about 50% lower than previous models.

With the increasing functionality of smartphones and wearables, including AI, high-speed communication, large-scale data processing, and power consumption are also increasing. This leads to faster battery depletion and more frequent charging. To manage these issues, demand is rising for compact, low-voltage oscillators. In response, the company has developed the new clock oscillator series and will continue to innovate to meet market needs and support the evolution of advanced devices.

The company's proprietary compact element design technology allows the KC1210A Series to deliver strong performance in a smaller form factor. The mounting area is decreased by approximately 60% to 1.31mm², and the volume is about one-quarter of that of the company's KC2016K clock oscillator model, supporting high-density mounting for advanced devices.

The KC1210A Series utilises a newly developed low-voltage oscillator IC, allowing operation at 0.9V, approximately 50% lower than the voltage required by the company's previous models. This is expected to reduce power consumption by approximately 50% compared to its earlier oscillator models, supporting energy savings in smartphones and wearable devices.

Main applications include smartphones, VR goggles/VR headsets, wearable devices, and IoT modules, etc.
