Powell Electronics now offers the Series 806 Mil-Aero Micro Miniature D38999 connectors from Glenair, a next-generation small-form-factor circular connector designed to deliver full MIL-DTL-38999 performance in a substantially smaller and lighter package.

The connectors meet, and often even exceed, the performance requirements of MIL-DTL-38999 Series III. Independent testing confirms their advanced electrical, mechanical, and environmental performance, making them suited for demanding aerospace, military, industrial, transportation, and harsh-environment applications.

The components include multiple mechanical innovations, including robust insert retention, radial sealing, triple-ripple grommet seals, and an integrated anti-decoupling system. A re-engineered ratchet mechanism, reduced thread ramp angle, and refined thread pitch greatly enhance coupling security under vibration.

Despite its compact footprint, Series 806 devices offer high contact density, supporting size 22HD and 20HD signal contacts, size eight power contacts, and high-speed octaxial, quadrax, and fibre optic configurations. Available options include hermetic, high-temperature, filtered, and fibre optic versions, as well as factory-terminated cable assemblies.

The connectors also include Glenair’s ultra-lightweight Nano shield termination band, maximising shielding effectiveness while minimising weight. Further enhancements include a top-hat insulator for precise alignment and an O-ring radial sealing interface, improving EMI performance, durability, and ease of mating.
