Innovative cooling solution for fan-cooled jackets in occupational health and safety

Kyocera will highlight its cooling solution system by airflow technology at A+A in November. Developed in collaboration with BURTLE, the system is designed to improve heat protection and strengthen workplace safety for employees across Europe.

High temperatures on construction sites and in industrial settings pose a growing challenge to worker safety and efficiency. While air conditioning provides relief indoors, countless outdoor workers face the challenge of the heat. Prolonged exposure increases the risk of dehydration, fatigue, and heat-related illnesses, such as heat stroke. Traditional methods, such as cooling packs, provide only limited relief and are impractical for continuous use. The company addresses this issue by giving fan-cooled jackets with advanced cooling technology. These are designed to provide reliable, long-lasting protection against heat stress, thereby supporting safer, more productive workplaces.

The fan unit draws in outside air and circulates it throughout the jacket. As air is released through the neck area, it accelerates sweat evaporation. This evaporation helps dissipate body heat, keeping the wearer cool, refreshed, and comfortable. The workwear is also created for compatibility with safety equipment, featuring lanyard access for harnesses, a detachable hood that fits over helmets, and a hi-vis model, which will meet DIN EN ISO 20471 Class 2 standards. This makes the garments a vital solution for protecting workers' safety and comfort in hot environments. Unlike short-term methods such as ice packs, the system delivers continuous, long-lasting cooling.

The company's fan system combines precise airflow control with a secure screw-lock attachment, providing stability even during active work. With IP55-rated dust and water-resistance, the fans are developed for long-term performance in demanding environments.

Visit Kyocera at the A+A 2025 Show, Hall 16, Booth # J04, from 4-7 November 2025 in Düsseldorf, Germany.
