Industry sectors, including biomedical technology, e-mobility and regenerative energy design, increasingly require advanced equipment that consumes more power at higher voltage ratings. To fulfil this demand, Voltcraft have developed a new bench power supply series that takes its current product range to the next level. These new PSUs are now available from the Conrad Sourcing Platform. The series comprises a total of six VSPP products capable of generating up to 600VDC and 3000W, respectively, and is aimed at R&D scenarios that until recently needed specific high-voltage solutions. "Real power means controlling extremes such as keeping 3000W of raw power accurately within a few millivolts," explains Harald Lehner, who manages the Voltcraft category at Conrad Electronic. "This is what safety means nowadays when it comes to high-voltage technology."
By releasing products that allow seamless output voltage regulation between 0VDC and 600VDC and wattage settings of 1200W to 3000W, Voltcraft managed to close the gap to industrial high-voltage applications. All six VSPP models are highly accurate, with voltage tolerances of ≤0.05% ± 20mV, 50mV and 100mV (depending on the product) and even lower amperage tolerances at ≤0.05% ±20mA and 30mA (depending on the product). What makes the VSPP series stand out is its low-noise output, which ensures the high signal qualities considered essential in R&D.
One important innovative feature is flexible scalability. These PSUs can be used in series and parallel circuitries, with the flagship model allowing the connection of up to 10 units in parallel, to generate output currents of 300A without compromising the system. This 'modularity' makes expanding test setups more cost-efficient, e.g. if you suddenly need more power during one of your product development stages. Moreover, all products not only feature USB, LAN and RS-485 ports to allow ATE integration but also fit into standard 19" rack frames, which speeds up setting up compact high-performance test stations.
All VSPP models come with linked-list programmability, which reduces the time spent on all these recurrent measurements carried out in R&D. No need to connect the devices to a PC to set up test routines; select them on the device and choose from resolutions as high as 10mV and 1mA. Goes without saying that the products are not limited to manual operation: full remote operation and full remote programmability provide the flexibility you require for using the PSUs in complex testing setups. Moreover, the products are designed to be powered by a wide range of grid types, supporting 85VAC to 265VAC mains supply at 50Hz and 60Hz. One output per unit and high-power density levels make the series a highly specific tool that fulfils the stringent reliability and output accuracy standards that apply across the industries.
